Water Mark Your Work

When working in the graphic design industry, one thing i have learned is watermarks are a must. If you get paid up-front, that's one thing, but if you wait for payment on completion, I highly recommend it. Below is a basic tutorial on how to add a watermak using photoshop

This is a tutorial that will show you how to watermark your work to prevent people from stealing it.
This tutorial was posted by someone else but was replaced, and due to popular demand, has been brought back.

Ok, first things first.

1. Create new document with transparent Back Ground. Size can be about 500px X 500px
2. Now type whatever you want your text to say, or use your logo, which is what I do in mine.

3. Then, right click the text layer in the layers toolbar and click rasterize layer.

4. Now, if you wish you can rotate the text at an angle.

5. Now select the crop tool and crop the text, so you have just the text in the crop window.

6. Now just go to edit, (if you do not see define pattern, you may need to click show all menu items) then click define pattern. And name your watermark

7. That’s it you are done.

Using your water mark

1. Open the image you want to watermark.
2. Add a new layer; put it on top of the rest.
3. Make sure the new layer is selected and go to edit, then fill, then select your watermark from the custom pattern box.
4. You can adjust the opacity here or do it from the layer toolbar.
5. That’s it you have a watermarked image.
