Some Hosting Companies (such as Godaddy.com) try to make it appear that they are striving to secure the internet from malicious activity at all costs. At least that's what it says all over their Security Blogs, However when it comes down to it, They are really only looking out for themselves, and how they look in the public eye.

Skilled Graphics recently found an exploit which was targeting Joomla websites. Read How Godaddy decided they were powerless, yet Skilled Graphics managed to pull the site down in minutes.

As it turns out, if you contact the right individuals, bringing down malicious sites is really not that hard at all. In most cases malicious material is hosted on an individuals website, and that individual doesn't even know it.

Skilled Graphics truly wants to make the internet safer and would like you all to help us. Please report any suspicious websites or pages to Skilled Graphics, and we will investigate these sites personally, and if a threat is detected we will contact the necessary individuals or companies to remove the malicious content.

Some important things to look for...

• Look at the url

Make sure the url you are on (located in the address bar of your browser) is what it is supposed to be. For example, If you clicked a PayPal link, make sure the url has paypal.com in it, and not paypalcom.net, or some other variance.

Make sure the webpage you are on is not located in a strange location on the hosting directory. For example if the website you are on looks like "http://website.com/images/bb/2233/". Unless you are viewing an image, this would be a little suspicious.

• Look for cloned websites.
  

Many criminals will clone a PayPal, Bank, Facebook, or other popular websites with intent on stealing your information. Again the key here is in the url. Make sure the website you are looking at corresponds with the url in the address bar.
